What is Baobab People?

We’re glad you asked! Baobab People is a St. Louis-based nonprofit organization that seeks to connect people from different cultures through dialogue and learning. Because we believe that how we treat our fellow human beings is important, our programs are designed to encourage human compassion and curiosity as well as advance human connection.

We strive to be an avenue for hope, and we are passionate about creating a sense of shared belonging. Our message is simple; we can pull together through our stories!

We’d be thrilled to hear from you if you are passionate about bringing people together across difference. And if you are interested in volunteering or interning with Baobab People, send us an email. We’d love to hear from you.

Conference 2018: Beyond Tolerance

At this conference, Baobab People will seek to respond to the deeply divided nature of our communities, as our recent election has revealed. While we may share some similarities, the realities of race, gender, religious and other forms of social difference are often the source of conflict between people. Moreover, despite a growing interest in diversity, we continue to struggle to embrace difference within our neighborhoods, communities, and institutions.
